Backyard Antics

Having some summery fun. The kids are getting so good at playing together and keeping each other busy running, playing, and yelling orders at each other which neither is inclined to follow. 

Three Body Part Drawing

Yesterday at Jackson's 4 year check up I told the doc that I was a little concerned that he hadn't made any progress this year in the area of writing and drawing. Apparently they should be able to draw a representive picture of something with 3 body parts or more. We are still at the scribbling level and Jackson's pictures look just like Cosette's scribbles. We have not worked on it at all since he doesn't like coloring very much. The doctor said to start working on it so we can make sure it's just disinterest and not an actual problem. 

Today Jackson picked up a piece of caulk and said, "I'm drawing a T-Rex. Here's the head. Here's the eye. Here's the teeth and the legs..."  I guess that problem is solved. 100% disinterest in coloring and not inability to make the shapes. Glad I didn't spend more than a day worried about it. So many "delays" end up being simply boy-related lack of exposure. 

Looks more like a jelly fish than a T-Rex, but there sure are 3 body parts!
