Shaver Lake Camping Trip

We just got back from a family camping trip up to Shaver Lake with 20 members of my extended family.  Dan couldn't get much time off of work, so I went up early with my parents and Dan came a day later.  This was most of the family's first time meeting the baby and so I had a lot of hands that wanted to hold him.  He loved all of the attention and being outside all day.  He seemed more at ease in the outdoors than at home and he hardly fussed the whole time (again, he was getting a ton of attention, so that may be it).  I feel so lucky to have a baby who is flexible enough to allow Dan and I to continue to socialize and participate in trips like this.  Thank you Baby Jack!

The whole group on the last day.  These are my mom's siblings and their kids.
Playing on the picnic table as dinner is being made.
Uncle Dubb calls him Jack-Jack
Aunt Natalie calls him Jackie-Poo-Poo
I LOVE this picture because he makes this face all of the time and I can hear the sound that goes with it in my head.
Sweet little guy!
We got to hold Jackson in our arms in the cab of the truck when we drove across the campground and he really preferred this to the car seat.  Too bad we can't hold him in the car all of the time.
Sleeping in the tent trailer.  He's never napped this well in his life.  Also, he picked this trip to "sleep though the night" for the first time, meaning that he slept from when we all went to bed around 11:30pm until we got up at 8:30am.  It was an awesome and restful night for me.
The group down by the lakeside getting sun.
Papa Barrett calls him The Captain and has a 75% smile generation rate.  Jack has two Papa Tim's so now we have to distinguish them by last name too.
Going on a little walk near our campsite.
The going got a little bumpy, but he slept through it.
Drying Baby off after a nice little "swim" in the lake.  He shrieked pretty loudly when I dipped his toes in the water, but he seemed to like sitting with me and Dan in the shallow water.
Dan playing with my cousin's kids (Jack's second cousins) Brogan and Hunter.
Getting lots of attention
More cute napping.  We bought this giant umbrella-tent thing at Costco and it ended up being perfect for keeping the baby in the shade on the sunny beach.
My cousin Jen with little Jackson.  She was a big help and held him a lot.
Cousin Cassie with Jackson.  The mood is deteriorating.
My parents, sister, her hubby and us.  Maybe a Christmas card photo?  On second thought maybe we'll wait and get a group shot when everyone's taken a shower...
Hopefully a lot more camping trips to come.
